Hey! thanks for having me in this here roleplaying guild. Names Steve or whomever else I happen to be playing at the time you catch me. Been Role playing for quite awhile now and have no intention on stopping anytime soon. I love telling, writing, and hearing stories and I think that's something we are starting to lose in our culture. As is the old adage from one of my old favorite Jim Henson shows "When people told themselves their past with stories, explained their present with stories, foretold the future with stories...the best place by the fire was reserved for...the story teller."

What this means to me is, while some people may think we're a little silly pretending to be characters, making up little lives for them and seeing how they play out with action, drama, horror, and sometimes romance, flirtation, and even death I think we are upholding a long tradition that is fizzling out one generation at a time. We live in a world that's so easy to be lost in droning mechanical white nose. Its sitting next to people but being entirely alone as they tap away at their Smartphone and checking facebook. Technology isn't the problem I think but communication. We all used to make up little stories as kids. I used to tell them to myself incessantly as a child. Then I began to write them down.

Aristotle taught his students by first asking them a question and then not asking them to answer him but to form another question to return to him until both parties became enlightened. This is the heart of what we do even in the silliest of jokes or dramatic of scenes. We give and take with each other to form a narrative and both experience that kind of literary magic at once. I'm honored to be amongst you all. You don't have to try to achieve these things, your already doing them by being part of this practice and with everything I can I will defend that practice, and the rest of you, as best as my pretend little series of pixels and mathematical calculations behind the flash animation can.

Lets get out there and have some damn fun and make some good stories to tell again later. Salut!
